      • Sounds good!

I really want them to hurry up and approve the Burnside Delta between 11th and 12th. There are mixed-use apartments from 12th to 15th, but they all feel so cut off from the action on Burnside because of that massive empty parking lot where the Delta will be. Having a mixed use apartment there will give that stretch a more unified feel, as will the Jupiter expansion.

  1. I have been in exile in Seattle for the past five years and every time I return home to Portland, I amazed at the superior quality of design for urban projects. Two really awful disappointments stand out though; the Linden at Sandy/Burnside/12th and the sad, dreary blocks of Grant Park Village. Given the scope and prominence of the site, this property deserved far better that a pathetic hardieboard simulacrum of the Gordon’s Fireplace shop across 33rd. I’m really curious how this came about – was it a casualty of the great recession?
