The OHSU Elk’s Children Eye Clinic (as presented to the Design Commission for Design Advice in November 2017) has been submitted for a Type III Design Review

Every week, the Bureau of Development Services publishes lists of Early Assistance applications, Land Use Reviews and Building Permits processed in the previous week. We publish the highlights. This post covers January 29th to February 4th, 2018.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled to discuss the redevelopment of Kellogg Middle School:

No changes in code for this site. Total redevelopment of the Kellogg Middle School site after building demolition and site regrading. Includes changes to vehicular access on SE 69th Ave for drop-off/parking and buses, recreation fields, parking and limited access service and fire land connected to SE Franklin St. Proposes 105.112 SF structure at an increase from the former 96,973 SF.

Early Assistance has been requested for a project at 1511 SE Holgate Blvd:

Current code: Construct a 3-story, 22-unit, affordable housing project (9,600 sq ft) that is 100% affordable to renters earning at or below 60% of area median income.

Early Assistance has been requested for a project at 1715 NW 17th Ave:

Current code: Renovation of existing warehouse with addition of interior mezzanine/2nd floor for use as creative office space.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled to discuss the Toyoko Inn at SW 3rd & Oak:

Current code: Project is a 19 story, 120,000 SF business hotel with 486 rooms. Ground floor will have a lobby, breakfast area, business center and other facilities related to the hotel. An interior courtyard will include two loading bays, bicycle storage and outdoor dining.Site is subject to an obligation to provide underground parking for the abutting garage building.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled by Allied Works Architecture to discuss a project at 1130 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd:

Current Code: Demolition of an existing one story auto servicing center to be replaced with a new 8-story, 140,000SF commercial office building with retail use on ground level and two levels of parking below grade.

A project at 4242 SE Milwaukie Ave has been submitted for Type II Adjustment Review by Koble Creative Architecture:

Construction of a new 4-story, multi-family building (12 units). Two adjustments requested: 1) street setback and 2) side setback

The OHSU Elk’s Children Eye Clinic has been submitted for Type III Design Review by NBBJ:

New 5-story building for the Elk’s Children Eye Clinic for OHSU.

A project at 2636 NE Sandy Blvd has been submitted for building permit review by Brett Schulz Architect:

Renovate existing 2-story build; shell only, no occupancy; demo interior partition walls and stairs; build new demising walls to create 10 future tenant spaces, new stairs, (5) new mezzanines, new deck, interior trash room and egress courtyard.

A project at 600 SE Belmont St has been submitted for building permit review by Woodblock Architecture:

TI and addition for new tenant and partial change of occupancy from F to A, S, and B; new mezzanine over trash and office, new walk in cooler, bar, canning, tasting room on main floor; new rooftop patio, (2) egress stairs, (2) bathrooms and elevator

The Central Lofts at 8608 N Lombard St have been submitted for building permit review by Jones Architecture:

New 4 story mixed use building with 30 units, attached trash enclosure, includes associated site work **mechanical separate**

A project at 1734 NE 45th Ave has been submitted for building permit review by DECA, Inc:

New 3 story apartment building with basement, 12 units

A project at 520 SE 82nd Ave has been submitted for building permit review:

New 20,480 sf grocery store with 2 walk-in coolers, office, 2 bathrooms, break room, storage room at loading dock, and associated site work inlcuding expanded parking lot ***with detached trash enclosure <120 sq ft*** ***separate mechanical permit for HVAC and refrigeration***

A building permit was issued for the Overton 15 apartments at 1470 NW Overton St:

New 7-story mixed use building with 68 apartments with ground level offices
