The conversion of an existing 51,000sf historic group living complex into an affordable housing complex. With a new 36,000sf addition and a future, 32,000sf stand alone building to be added to the site, a total of 128 new affordable housing units will be created. The intention is to include on-site filtration methods pending the results of the geotechnical report.

The Design Commission has approved the Modera Morrison, a 7-story building designed by SERA Architects for Mill Creek Residential Trust. The project will include 247 units. 175 vehicular parking spaces are proposed in two levels of below grade parking. 384 bicycle parking spaces are proposed.

The building will be subject to the city’s inclusionary housing rules, which require the provision of affordable housing or the payment of a fee-in-lieu.

Block 216
For the second year in a row, a post about the Block 216 tower was the most popular post on Next Portland.

2019 was the fifth full year that Next Portland has been in operation. Over the course of the year 145 articles were published.

In contrast to 2017 and 2018, the most popular articles of the year were generally ones published this year. The lone article in the list published before 2018 was about Eleven West, which was approved in 2017 but only recently submitted for permit.

The project would include approximately 245 units. 177 vehicular parking spaces are proposed in two levels of below grade parking.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled by Scotia Western States Housing for a project at 1325 SW Gibbs St:

The proposed project is a 30-unit multifamily project across approximately 24,000 sf of living space and 4 stories of living space above one level of parking garage on the R-1 portion of the site.
