A building permit was issued for the Seven Corners Community Collaborative at 2475 SE Ladd Ave:

The developer of The Collective on 4th intends to break ground in October, according to the Portland Business Journal. The 15 story building will include 417 apartments, with the possibility of a grocery tenant at the ground floor.

Portland has released its latest proposal for mandatory Unreinforced Masonry Buildings, reportsThe DJC. The deadline for when buildings must be upgraded will be 25 years.

In “Temple of Doom“, published at the Business Tribune, architecture journalist Brian Libby lamented the fates of the Ancient Order United Workmen Temple and the Hotel Albion, respectively set to be replaced by the office at 3rd & Taylor and the hotel at 3rd & Salmon.

Portland Architecture took an in depth look at The Redd on Salmon Street, the Central Eastside food distribution hub planned by the Ecotrust.

The Business Tribune profiled the Seven Corners Community Collaborative, a building that will “ability to communicate via the Assistive Technology Lab and the building itself will serve as a model of accessibility for Portland and the Pacific Northwest region.”

The Historic Landmarks Commission has approved the Seven Corners Community Collaborative, a four story office building with ground floor retail. The building will serve as the new headquarters for Community Vision, Inc., a non profit that helps people with disabilities to live independently in their homes. According to an article published in The Oregonian  last year the building will be a showcase for accessible construction, with features that include ensuring that “rooms and corridors… be oriented and painted so people with impaired sight will be able to navigate more easily.”

The Oregonian reported that the Portland Development Commission has picked a development team that includes Williams & Dame and BRIDGE Housing for Riverplace Parcel 3. The $93 million project will include 203 units of affordable housing, 162 units of market rate housing and 30,000 sq ft of retail.

In a 4-0 vote, the City Council approved the SE Quadrant Plan, a part of the Central City 2035 plan. The document will guide development in the Central Eastside for the next 20 years.

As the PDC gets ready to begin selective demolition at Centennial Mills, the Mayor’s office has asked the PDC to look whether the entire complex should be demolished. The current plan is to save the feed mill, the flour mill and the mounted patrol unit, but there is currently insufficient funds to bring them back into use.

Community Visions, a non profit that helps people with disabilities live independently in their homes, is moving forward with plans for the Seven Corners Community CollaborativeAn article in The Oregonian described their ambitions for the building.

Mexican restaurant Rocio’s has opened in the Creston Lofts. Eater PDX published photos of the new space.

The Oregonian reported that the owners of City Liquidators are working on plans for a privately owned park with associated mixed use development at 711 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. The new open space, tentatively named Pelett Park, could include food carts and patio seating for Le Bistro Montage.

A Pre-Application Conference has been scheduled to discuss the Seven Corners Community Collaborative, a proposed office building at SE Division St and SE Ladd Ave. The design for the building is by Waterleaf Architecture. Drawings submitted to the Bureau of Development show a 4 story building with 3 stories of offices above ground floor retail. 9 vehicular parking spaces are proposed at the ground level.
