Canopy by Hilton set to receive Design Advice

ZGF Architects have submitted drawings of the proposed Canopy by Hilton hotel to the City for Design Advice. As currently proposed the 10 story hotel will have 153 guest rooms. The developer behind the project is the Buccini/Pollin Group and the hotel will be operated by PM Hospitality Strategies.

The location for the new hotel is at NW 9th and Glisan. A single story warehouse building, built in 1938 and owned by Menashe Properties, currently occupies the quarter block site.

 

Exterior materials proposed for the Canopy by Hilton hotel include corrugated printed metal panel, flat metal panel, board formed concrete, wood and aluminum windows.

The ground floor program includes the lobby, a lounge, a cafe/bar and a fitness room. The basement will have have a double height winter garden, with adjacent meeting rooms. Back of house functions such as the kitchen and housekeeping are also proposed for the basement.

The Design Commission is scheduled to offer Design Advice on June 4th. A Type III Design Review will be required for the project. The developers hope to break ground in April 2016, and open the hotel in November of 2017.
