News Roundup: The Welby, Meyer Memorial Trust HQ, 808 on Alder, and more

The Welby is proposed on the south half of Lovejoy Square, where a previous proposal was approved two year ago. The 15-story, mass-timber building would include retail, office and residential space.

The Daily Journal of Commerce wrote about The Welby, a mass timber tower planned* which went in front of the Design Commission last week for Design Advice.

The new Meyer Memorial Trust Headquarters on N Vancouver is now complete, reports the Portland Business Journal.

The Hollywood Star News reports that Grove Development has begun work on a 28-unit apartment project at 3450 NE 50th Ave in Rose City Park.

Work is wrapping up on biotech hub 808 on Alder (previously known called the Eastside Innovation Hub), according to the Portland Business Journal.

The Willamette Blocks proposal has been submitted for a Type III Design Review. The project would include two high rise towers on the blocks facing the river and two mid rise buildings on the inland blocks.

The Willamette Blocks at SW Bond and Lane have been submitted for a Type III Design Review by Hensley Lamkin Rachel Architects and Alamo Manhattan:

Project including four separate mixed-use multifamily structures with approximately 1,200 multifamily units, ground floor retail and parking uses. A new top story will be added to an existing building at SE 8th & Alder as part of its conversion into the Eastside Innovation Hub.

The Business Tribune wrote about two bioscience buildings planned by Summit Development: the Eastside Innovation Hub at 808 SE Alder, which will add a new story to an existing building; and the New Industrial Revolution Center, a 10-story cross-laminated timber building planned at 920 SE Stark St.

The Daily Journal of Commerce visited 7 Southeast Stark, an under construction building that is “either a major new office project with ample parking, or a major new parking project with an office component.”*
