News Roundup: Montgomery Park Master Plan, Williams & Russell, Cathedral Village, and more

Montgomery Park was sold by the Bill Naito Company to Unico Properties in 2019. Unico is currently working on a Master Plan for the property, which could see the surface parking redeveloped.

The NW Examiner reported that the the Master Plan for Montgomery Park could include a trailhead lodge and a bridge over NW Wardway St, connecting the district to Forest Park.

site, a total of 128 new affordable housing units will be created. New dry wells and stormwater basins will be added to the site for on-site stormwater filtration.

Project consisting of a new +/-11-story hotel with partial basement on a quarter-block site. The new structure will replace an existing 1-story commercial building. The hotel will contain 150-160 guest rooms with 85,000-90,000 square feet. Loading access is planned along NW Hoyt Street, with a single interior loading bay. No off-street parking is proposed. Ground floor program includes hotel lobby, restaurant, lounge, kitchen, offices, restrooms, mechanical rooms and bike storage. Floors 2-11 will be primarily guest rooms with limited amenity spaces such as fitness room, board room and a roof terrace with bar. Stormwater treatment and detention will be accomplished by way of a vegetated roof.

Cathedral Village is one of the developments that was recently awarded funding through the City of Portland’s Housing Bond. The development by Catholic Charities will include 110 affordable homes, with a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

The 9-story Portland Proper Hotel is proposed for a site at NW 13th Ave and Irving St in the Pearl District.

The Portland Proper Hotel had its first presentation to the Design Commission*, with the brick cladding drawing particular praise, reports the Daily Journal of Commerce.

The University of Portland has unveiled the latest addition to its campus, the “$34M stunner” Dundon-Berchtold Hall, writes the Portland Business Journal.

The City of Portland declared that it’s on track to meet housing bond’s goals, according to the Oregonian. At a press conference it was announced that nine projects will receive funding through the bond: 115th at Division Street in Powellhurst-Gilbert; The Susan Emmons in Northwest; Anna Mann House in Kerns; Cathedral Village in Cathedral Park; The Joyce Hotel in Downtown; Las Adelitas in Cully; NE Prescott in Cully; the Stark Street Project in Glenfair; and the The Westwind in Old Town.
