Current code: Proposal is for a 9 unit, multi-dwelling residential apartment building consisting of (9) 3-story townhouses of Type VA-NFPA 13R construction. Current code: Proposal is for new construction of a four story apartment building which will be approximately 69,500 SF with 76 dwelling units and a new 21 stall surface parking lot.

Early Assistance has been requested by Dowl for a project at 12044 SE Division St:

Current code info: Partial demolition of existing Burger King (3,929 sq ft reduced to 3,082 sq ft) and development of a new drive thru pad. Project will include new and reconfigured parking and associated landscaping improvements. Stormwater will be disposed on site via drywells New trash enclosure will be constructed to serve the two new restaurants. New pad is 2,507 sq ft.

The Multnomah County Health Department HQ has reached its full height

The Willamette Week reported that the Overlook Restaurant will close on January 21st. The diner at 1332 N Skidmore St will be replaced by the Overlook apartments, which will include 158 residential units.

The first new build affordable housing project financed with the voter approved $258 million housing bond will be on the site of the former Safari Showclub at 3000 SE Powell, writes the Oregonian.

The Multnomah County Health Department HQ has topped out, according to the Business Tribune. Completion is scheduled for early 2019.

By a 3-1 vote the Portland Art Museum received city council blessing to enclosure a pedestrian plaza and move forward with the Rothko Pavilion.

The Portland Business Journal reported that Zoom+ will move its headquarters from Hillsboro into the Pearl West office building.

The Willamette Week asked “Has Portland City Hall Learned Its Lesson About Parking Spaces Raising Rents?”, in light of a proposal by the Bureau of Planning & Sustainability to add minimum parking requirement in the Northwest District.

The Oregonian wrote about Seattle Mayor Ed Murray’s Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda, which “may provide Portland a blueprint“.

After an Early Assistance request for a “proposed 5-story apartment building with underground parking” at 1332 N Skidmore, the Portland Mercury looked into whether the Overlook Restaurant might make way for redevelopment. According to the newspaper the development would include “248 units and 75 underground parking spaces, and [be] ‘anchored by a corner restaurant.'”

Writing in the Business Tribune, architecture journalist Brian Libby revealed that Multnomah County had failed to shortlist Pritzker Prize winning architect Rem Koolhaas for the Multnomah County Courthouse.

The Portland Business Journal published new images of the OHSU Knight Cancer Research Building. The university expects to break ground on the project in mid-June.

The 25,000 sq ft New Seasons University Park opened on Wednesday.
