The 15 story hotel at 619 SW 11th Ave is being designed by SERA Architects for developer Mortenson.

The Bureau of Development Services permit center will be closed on Monday*, reports the DJC, to enable BDS employees to attend the memorial service for Rick Best. Best, an employee of the bureau, was one of the two men killed on the MAX a week ago.

A 2017 groundbreaking is planned for the hotel at 619 SW 11th Aveaccording to the Business Tribune.

Barcelona based restaurant Can Font has opened in the Cosmopolitan on the Park, reports Eater Portland.

The Oregonian took a look at the Hi-Lo Hotelnow open in the renovated Oregon Pioneer Building.

Expansion of former YMCA building presented to Design Commission (images)

An expansion in scope to the currently under construction renovation of a former YMCA building has been presented to the Design Commission. A major renovation of the existing building at 2815 SW Barbur Blvd was approved in October 2015, in order to convert the building into office space.  The core and shell renovation is being designed by Bora Architects, who were the original designers of the 1977 building. The client for the project is Seattle based developer InterUrban Development, who now wish to add an additional floor to the building to meet the needs of the future tenant. The building will be the new Portland base for sportswear company Under Armour, who will complete separate tenant improvements to the interior of the building.

Design Commission approves renovation of Metro Family YMCA for Under Armour (images)

The Design Commission has approved a renovation of the former YMCA building at 2815 SW Barbur Blvd, which will become the new Portland base for Under Armour. The renovation is being designed by Boora Architects, who were the original architects for the 1977 building. The developer for the project is Seattle based InterUrban Development.

A Pre-Application Conference [PDF] has been scheduled to discuss the renovation of the former YMCA at 2815 SW Barbur Blvd. As first reported in April the building will the new home for Under Armour’s Portland operations. The designers of the project are Siteworks Design | Build, who are working with Seattle based Interurban Development. The project will include a new glass façade for the building, and “small changes to the entry”.
